Democrats just helped legalize torture. Therefore, opponents of torture should vote for Democrats.

Radley Balko’s blog The Agitator may have saved a man’s life yesterday.

All the bloviating about an Army of Davids Crashing the Gates is meaningless compared to this. All the blogs who claim to be fighting Islamofascism by linking to Michelle Malkin are full of shit.

The Agitator (with a lot of help from the Cato Institute) just took a man off death row.

Just like Atrios says.

Years and years ago, I was chatting with somebody about whether or not American leftists hate the country. I proposed that if you define “America” as “anything that makes America distinguishable from other Western countries", you could say that leftists mostly hate America. I didn’t really believe it, but I thought there was something to it.

By that definition, a lot of Republicans, including a lot who reject that term in favor of “libertarian” or “anti-idiotarian", hate America.

I’m still alive. I’ve just been busy and too lazy to blog. So here are my thoughts until further notice.

• I hope the Democrats get control of Congress this fall. In particular, I hope the state where I was born fire’s Rick Santorum’s crazy ass.
• I hope Cory Maye’s life is spared.
• The Iraq war was a dumb idea. In retrospect, I’ll go deep into wacko leftist territory and admit that invading Afghanistan was probably a waste of resources too.
• The Wicker Man is the hilariously awful film that Snakes on a Plane wanted to be.
• Go Phillies!
