August has a modestly brilliant proposal: conservatives and libertarians who write fire-breathing, liberal-bashing defenses of Wal Mart should be willing to show their own Wal Mart receipts.
Well, as an occasional Wal-Mart defender and liberal-basher, I came home all set to do just that, but then I realized my tolerance for digging through my trash was less than I thought. So you’ll have to take my word that I just bought the new Goodfellas DVD set from Chez Walton a couple of weeks ago.
At any rate, this is the best I could do:
Envelopes from the Wal-Mart DVD rental service, to which I am a happy subscriber. (Although I’m quitting soon, since Netflix has lowered their rates and opened up a distribution center near me in White River Junction, VT.)
