And Then There Were….

Via Eschaton, I learn that predictable Republican apologist Tucker Carlson* has joined the rest of us radical left-wing America-haters in opposing the Iraq war.

“I think it’s a total nightmare and disaster, and I’m ashamed that I went against my own instincts in supporting it,” he said. “It’s something I’ll never do again. Never. I got convinced by a friend of mine who’s smarter than I am, and I shouldn’t have done that. No. I want things to work out, but I’m enraged by it, actually.”

Atrios goes on to cite statistics showing record low opinions on the war among Americans. But I propose this challenge: who will be the first poster on National Review’s The Corner to stop clapping? I restrict this survey to the Corner because the articles on the main page occasionally contain heretical views, but the Corner largely sticks to the party line.

My money’s on Krikorian or Derbyshire, the two house paleocons.

* I realize Carlson no more of a predictable partisan apologist than Begala or Carville, but that doesn’t make him not one.
