Yo La Tengo is New Jersey's most famous contribution to the world of indie rock music, and surely the most famous to derive its name from a Mets baseball anecdote involving Richie Ashburn, Elio Chacon, and Frank Thomas. Invoking its name on Primer is one way to show you are "cool" and "with it."

Yo La Tengo drew a lot from Coyote Records labelmates The Feelies, and shared many a stage at Maxwell's (http://www.maxwellsnj.com/) in Hoboken, NJ.
