Upgrades

The biggest upgrade in BTF history was the changeover in the spring of 2004 from the Grey Matter server at baseballprimer.com (AKA "Old Primer") to the Expression Engine site at baseballthinkfactory.org.

Several major changes were made to the site in the fall of 2005.

In one of these upgrades, many previously-working BTF URL's, a large number of which had been posted to this site, ceased to work. However, it was discovered that replacing "/files/primer/discussion" with "/files/newsstand/discussion" and "newsblog_discussion" with "discussion" fixed many links. Users clicking a BTF link that then redirects them to the main page may try these methods to find the pages they seek. URL's for "baseballprimer.com", however, are permanently broken and are best retrieved from the Wayback Machine.

Confusingly, if one is attempting to retrieve a deleted Lounge from the Wayback Machine, one should generally use the older syntax, i.e. "/files/primer/discussion".

Anyone who finds a dead thread link on this Wiki and figures out a working version would be very appreciated if he or she updated the link here.
