Theo Epstein

From Wiki Gonzalez

Theo Epstein (born December 29, 1973 in New York, NY) is the general manager of the Boston Red Sox again after a short yet melodramatic sabbatical. BTF members consider him the second most handsome GM in baseball, next to Billy Beane.

He has been called "dreamy" more than once. In the wake of his team's historic 2004 performance, it is nearly impossible to summarize Theo's dreaminess in a mere wiki article. Suffice it to say, the Primer Archives Beast holds numerous articles and threads in which his dreamy self is analyzed. A sampling:

In October 2005, Theo resigned the Red Sox job amidst rumors of a power struggle in the Sox front office with Larry Lucchino regarding renewal of his contract. Some Primates blame CHB for instigating Theo's departure via a pot-stirring column that took Larry's side in the dispute. It was believed Peter Gammons took Theo's side; however, after Theo left, OlePerfesser quoted a Gammo column (http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/files/sox_therapy/discussion/33717) that seemed to suck up to Larry by saying everything was all right with the Sox.

In January 2006, Theo returned to the Red Sox, citing the resolution of fundamental philosophical differences and personality conflicts in the organization. For some reason, no one is buying this explanation.

Theo is also the rhythm guitarist of Trauser, a cover band that has performed on the bill at Gammons's annual benefit concert.

Theo's grandfather and uncle, twin brothers Philip and Julius Epstein, wrote the script for the classic movie "Casablanca." His sister, Anya, wrote the script for "Homicide: Life on the Streets," which won an Emmy in 1994 and currently screenwrites for the ABC Show "Commander-in-Chief." His father, Leslie, is a famous author.
