Ted Nugent (born 1948) began his career with the Amboy Dukes during the late 1960s, and became a rock guitar icon of the 1970s with the singles "Cat Scratch Fever", "Free-for-all" and other classic rock standards. The "Motor City Madman" made a late-career appearance with the supergroup Damn Yankees.

Nowadays the Nuge is best known as a strong supporter of the National Rifle Association (particularly their pro-gun stance on the 2nd Amendment) and of sport hunting.
