Strawman

From Wiki Gonzalez

A Straw Man (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man) is when a person mis-represents someone's argument, then attacks that argument. It's quite often overused on BTF.

The ironic part is, oftentimes the individual accusing another of a strawman argument is actually advancing a strawman argument themselves. It is the internet version of Option J, wherein thought and reason is replaced with simply whipping it out (the strawman, that is).

or it could be this.

Fancy literary reference (The image of them 'leaning together' is particularly good.) (http://www.cs.umbc.edu/~evans/hollow.html)
