Steriods
From Wiki Gonzalez
"Steriods" are not steroids, but casual readers and Primer posters can easily confuse the two.
This misspelling of "steroids" was used in the title of a BBTF thread of December 2, 2004 (http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/files/newsstand/discussion/jason_giambi_admits_he_used_steriods/), around the time that Jason Giambi's confession to using the drugs was revealed. The typo was joked about in that thread, treating it as if steriods and steroids were two different things. The "mirth" continues with "steriods" being added here.
On April 13, 2005, a 13-year-old identifying himself or herself as ZT from Wendell, North Carolina stumbled upon this wiki page from a Yahoo search on "steriods" and left these nuggets of wisdom:
- steriods are fair in todays game both pitchers and hitters are using roids so it works out even. back when ruth and maris broke the record they hit it in right field in yankee stadium-250 feet. thats 50 feet shorter than any ballpark in all of baseball. so really todays players have it worse, even thou they have steroids so do pitchers and that makes them even but the hitters have to hit the ball futher. well thats mine.
