Star Wars thread

The Star Wars thread began on October 28, 2002 after the Indians announced the hiring of Eric Wedge as manager for the following year. The thread's first post, for which HCO later accepted blame, was entitled "Indians Press Release", but contained starwars.com's biography of the character Wedge Antilles.
What followed was a series of posts tying baseball and Star Wars together. Among numerous quality offerings were Retardo's post as Admiral Motti:
- Dont try to frighten us with your sabermetric tricks, Lord Stathead. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not delivered the Oakland A's the world championship, nor has it given you clairvoyance enough to explain Kirk Rueter's success... Scrappy Anaheim baseball is now the ultimate power in the baseball universe. I suggest we use it.
and HCO's post as Yoda Sheehan:
- I sense much pettiness in you. Pettiness leads to jealousy. Jealousy leads to economic illiteracy. Economic illiteracy is the path to the b**** side.
