Sox Therapy

From Wiki Gonzalez

Sox Therapy is the section of Baseball Think Factory set aside for Boston Red Sox talk.

History

Sox Therapy was created because the BBTF/Primer founders are mostly Sox fans (at least Jim Furtado, Sean Forman, and flannel shirt wearing Gary Santerre are).

Back in the early days, they would litter the Baseball Primer pages with Red Sox news items ad nauseam. After a couple of complaints about this, they moved Red Sox items of less general interest into a separate section . . . even though it's hard to believe someone wouldn't want to know more about the only team that really matters.

Red Sox news items deemed to be of more general interest were, of course, crossposted to Sox Therapy and the current BBTF.

After the upgrades of 2006, Red Sox news items were shifted to the Baseball Newsstand, where they were available on a separate "newsbeat" page. Sox Therapy transformed into a blog where original Sox-related content and analysis was posted for further discussion.

Sox Therapists

Sox Therapy is not as heavily trafficked as Sons of Sam Horn, but some consider this an advantage of ST compared to SoSH. Many posters from Sox Therapy have (foolishly) migrated to SoSH.

Regular Sox Therapists (some call themselves Therapudlians) include kevin, Darren, Mikael, VLR, Toby, tfbg9, Olperfesser, Greg Jolin, Ironchef Chris Wok.

Darren, Gary Santerre, Rauseo, and Toby are the prime thread starters in the post-upgrade blog version of Sox Therapy.

Unfortunately, Sox Therapy's value as a prophylactic is limited. Sox fans still come to Primer with alarming regularity. Scientists are working around the clock to produce a more effective barrier. In the meantime, it is suggested that all other Primates surf and post with latex gloves.
