Soapy Massage

A soapy massage is an experience available in Thailand. Although of limited therapeutic value, the typical 90- or 120-minute soapy massage session combines several erotic elements.

Primary among these are being thoroughly bathed by an attractive, nude young woman, receiving from her a massage in which everything but her hands is used (when performed on an air mattress it can best be referred to by its alternate name, "The Bangkok Slide") and a variety of forms of copulation.

The cost of a soapy massage begins at about 1500 Thai baht (about US$49 as of May 2007) and increases from there depending on the tone of the establishment, the appearance of the provider and other factors. The girls' fees are included in the money paid to the house but tips for good service are appreciated.

There are several dozen places providing soapy massage in Bangkok alone. Most upscale massage parlors also include restaurants of reasonable quality, karaoke lounges, and traditional (non-sexual) massage in the Wat Po (Thai) or reflexological (Chinese-Thai) styles. All sell alcohol at reasonable prices.

A better analog to types of massage found in the West is the "oily massage" which is sufficiently descriptive. While of greater therapeutic value, sexual opportunities are fewer; the experience typically concludes with a "happy ending", most often a hand job or sometimes oral sex.

The concept of the Soapy Massage was foisted on BTF by Bangkok9, and while he remains an advocate, he now finds the process more akin to a car wash.
