Scott Kazmir

From Wiki Gonzalez

Scott Kazmir (born 1984) is a hard-throwing left-handed starting pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays, and the key prospect involved in the notorious Kazmir trade.

Drafted in 2002 out of high school by the New York Mets, Kazmir was widely regarded by Mets fans on Baseball Think Factory and elsewhere as the team's top prospect. After the 2004 trade, Mets pitching coach Rick Peterson revealed his opinion that Kazmir was at least five years away from being ready to contribute to a major league club.

As Kazmir's record with Tampa Bay from 2004 onward shows, given the ups and downs nearly all young pitchers are subject to, Peterson was wrong.
