Schroeder

Schroeder was to Peanuts what Mike Piazza was to BTF -- a talented receiver with great tools who did his best work behind the dish.

One has to wonder how such a talented pianist (capable of playing complex pieces with a toy piano whose black keys were only painted on) was talked into playing catcher for Charlie Brown, what with the very real risk of breaking a finger or two. Schroeder also appeared in at least one game as a pitcher, but was shelled.

Schroeder's true love was Ludwig van Beethoven. Nevertheless, Lucy pursued him constantly, leaning up against his piano (even fighting off Frieda at one point), but he never returned her affections. Some have disparaged Schroeder as "a double switcher at heart."
