Sabermetrics

From Wiki Gonzalez

Sabermetrics refers to the research and analysis of all aspects of baseball.

The term is most commonly associated with mathematical and statistical analysis of baseball records. Used loosely, it can also mean the alphabet soup of statistics often seen on Baseball Think Factory and other baseball sites. Note: the strict definition of sabermetrics encompasses historical and cultural research, as well as stats and numbers.

Coined by Bill James, the term derives from SABR, a wonderful organization to which many Primates belong.
