Baseball Think Factory requires registration before posting comments, but not to read the fabulous content. Since the Lounge was moved to the forums, you need to be registered and logged in to see it.
This change was put into place because a small percentage of whiny individuals couldn't handle having humorous posts by Mike Piazza, et al, mixed in with serious baseball analysis. Please note that the characters such as Mike Piazza were so beloved that large parts of this wiki are dedicated to them. Beloved, of course, by the people that didn't have to answer the dozens of angry letters to feedback every single day about the "humorous" posts and didn't mind that the occasional humorous posts by Mike Piazza et al was bordering on 65-70% of all posts within threads as of March, 2004.
In truth, the Piazza jokes were rather dumb and distracted from other, much better jokes on most boards. (Such as Admiral Ackbar jokes.)
Others complained that people would falsely attribute posts to other Primates, without using phrases such as "ntr" ("not the real") to denote the difference.
The majority of Primates who were around before registration bemoan registration and pine for the days before it. This is a small sample size, however, and should be treated thusly.
