Patients' lives are always at risk when confined to their beds and forced to watch baseball on FOX, what with Tim McCarver and all the commercials.

During the 2004 MLB playoffs, FOX, following its usual practice, used between-inning breaks to incessantly hype its new shows. One of the shows, called HOUSE, featured Hugh Laurie as Greg House, a sarcastic Vicodin-addicted doctor who can supposedly solve nearly any medical mystery.

In the most frequently run HOUSE commercial, House says (yells?), "You're risking a patient's life!" In the Game Chatters for the games where that promo aired, posters would frequently post "YOU'RE RISKING A PATIENT'S LIFE!" as the phrase was uttered.

"You're risking a patient's life!" was in fact said during the very first episode of HOUSE. Inexplicably, in the face of the FOX World Series curse, HOUSE became a hit, especially with an American Idol lead-in, destroying other much more worthy programming in its timeslot, and was renewed for a second season.

(Oddly enough, as the playoffs continued, FOX began showing a different promo for HOUSE more frequently than the aforementioned one, which did not include the now-infamous phrase.)
