Maury Brown

Maury Brown is the co-chair of SABR's Business of Baseball committee, and a prolific analyst of the economics of baseball.
Brown is the editor of the popular BizOfBaseball.com blog, runs The Baseball Journals blog, and is a staff writer for Baseball Prospectus. Besides his role in the national SABR organization, he also serves as Vice-President of the NWSABR chapter of SABR and manages BusinessOfBaseball.com on behalf of the organization.
Brown's analysis and commentary has been published in the Boston Globe, CNN/Money, Toronto Globe and Mail, Los Angeles Times, Pittsburgh Post Gazette, San Jose Mercury News, and Oregonian. He has also written for The Hardball Times and Baseball Think Factory's former Business of Baseball blog.
Brown resides in Portland, Oregon with his wife and two sons. On occasion, he has done pro bono work for the Oregon Stadium Campaign, which is a key component in the effort to bring a Major League Baseball franchise to Portland.
