One of the longest running shows of all-times. Its reruns are constantly on TNT and are favorites for many primates. Its newer episodes are not so well regarded.

The show's famous for its frequent cast turnover. The 6 slots in the cast have been filled by 20 actors. They are:

Identifying the seasons by the opening credits:

Season 1 - if it has Dzunda, it's season 1

Season 2, and early season 3 - There were no changes after season 2, but early in season 3, Paul Sorvino left the show. These are the only episodes with him in it.

The last two-thirds of season three: The only episodes containing both Jerry Orbach, and Dann Florek

Season 4: Only one with both Jill Hennessey and Micheal Moriarity

Season 5: Only one with both Chris Noth and Sam Wasterson

Season 6: Only one with Jill Hennessey and Benjamin Bratt

Season 7 and 8: Only years with Carey Lowell. There were no cast changes after season 7.

Season 9: Only one with both Benjamin Bratt and Angie Harmon

Season 10: Only one with both Jesse L. Martin and Steven Hill

Season 11: Only one with both Angie Harmon and Dianne Wiest

Season 12: Only one with both Dianne Wiest and Elisabeth Rohm

Seasons 13 and 14: There were no cast changes after season 13. These two years are the only ones with both Jerry Orbach and Fred Dalton Thompson.

Season 15 - first half: Only episodes with both Elisabeth Rohm and Dennis Farina

Season 15 - second half: Rohm became the first cast member since Sorvino to leave in mid-season. She was replaced by Whatsername.

L&O episodes not about murder Season 1 - Sonata for a Solo Organ (man has kidney removed)

Season 2 - Sisters of Mercy (runaway teen girl accuses nun of trying to molest her). Features William H. Macy

Season 4 - forgot the episode's name, but a woman accuses a rock star known as C-Square of raping her.
