John Sickels

John Sickels is a well-known Internet baseball writer, formerly for Stats Inc. and espn.com.

His espn.com column was called "Down on the Farm" and focused on prospect analysis from a statistical viewpoint, in essay form and in answering readers' emailed questions. The column ran from 1996 until 2005, when it was canceled after a reorganization of espn.com's baseball content. Most Primates felt Sickels got a raw deal from the four-letter network.

His official homepage is here, where he sells a prospect book and for-pay baseball newsletter, but he also has a free blog, MinorLeagueBall.com, devoted to quick-hit minor leaguer analysis.

Sickels became a Primate in 2005, usually responding in BTF threads linked to his MinorLeagueBall posts.
