Joe Dimino
From Wiki Gonzalez
Joe Dimino once described himself as a short guy with a goatee. Chris Dial nicknamed him "The Minnow" (or "DaMinnow" depending on how you want to pronounce it. He runs the Hall of Merit, is a former high school wrestler, lives in West Virginia, plays poker, and worships Satan ... er, the Yankees.
As the man who created the Hall of Merit, Joe is the "commissioner-for-life" for the site. Because of Joe's perseverance, the Hall of Merit is arguably the most representative in terms of position and era that has ever been created of any baseball group of greats. He has also applied pressure to make sure that appropriate credit be given for Negro Leaguers, war veterans, pre-National Association players and extended minor league play so they would have a fair chance at being elected.
His proudest HoM merit may have been when catching and third base pioneers Deacon White and Ezra Sutton were inducted into the Hall of Merit.
In his third year playing in the Kiddo Davis League (a Diamond Mind league), Joe has won the AL pennant twice in the three years of its existence. In April, 2005, Joe's Yanks went up against the formidable Philadelphia Phillies (manned by Hall of Merit moderator John Murphy). Losing 0-3, the Phillies bounced back to force a game 7. The Phillies lost however, ending a great series between the two fine teams.
