Jeff Angus

From Wiki Gonzalez

Jeff Angus is a Primate living in Seattle.

Angus, a former baseball writer and management consultant, runs Management By Baseball (http://cmdr-scott.blogspot.com), one of the more unusual baseball blogs around. He makes observations of current baseball news and research, then uses them to explore issues facing business management. Although in the spirit of Moneyball, it reverses the flow of knowledge, using baseball insights to inform corporate America. (The blog name is a nod to a business-jargon phrase, Management By Objectives).

During the 2005 baseball season, Angus successfully lobbied the Seattle Times to periodically post a sabermetrics-based leaderboard on its site, as an alternative to the badly outdated baseball leaderboards usually seen in the Sunday paper. He also wrote Times articles in which he introduced sabermetrics concepts to the general reader, as Rob Neyer used to do on ESPN.com.

Between his Times and MBB pieces and his posts to various Primer threads, Angus is often sighted (and cited) on BTF.
