Jay Mariotti
From Wiki Gonzalez
Jay Mariotti is a former sports columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. He used to be a sports-radio talk-show host, and is currently on ESPN's Around the Horn show.
Mariotti's columns are often linked to on Baseball Think Factory. He and CHB are two mainstream media columnists whose names are specially mentioned in BBTF thread lead-ins, specifically to warn concerned Primates who don't want to accidentally read the article.
Jay resigned from the Sun-Times on August 26, 2008. A Chicago Tribune report on his surprise resignation produced a very long Primer thread, with high-fives all around and discussion of his strained relationships with coworkers, the White Sox, and manager Ozzie Guillen.
Mariotti's written work usually consists of hit pieces on Chicago sports figures. One of his regular punching bags was Sammy Sosa, hence the big fraud who poops his pants running joke on BBTF.
