Is that even legal

"Is that even legal?" is a running joke, usually used in threads that involve legal matters. The joke is a reference to the disproportionate number of lawyers within the Primate population and the preponderance of law-related discussions.

The joke began with this November, 2007 Newsblog thread regarding pending contract negotiations between the Yankees and Alex Rodriguez. The article included this quote:

"We will not negotiate with Scott Boras," a Yankees source said. "He cannot be in the room."
