F-Troop
From Wiki Gonzalez
Founded in 2003, the F-Troop refers to the collection of Cubs veteran players providing leadership (or at least veteran presence) under the direction of Dusty Baker. On Primer, their names always include a middle initial of F.

Card-carrying members
Members past and present include the following:
- Lenny F. Harris (http://www.baseball-reference.com/h/harrile01.shtml)
- Tom F. Goodwin (http://www.baseball-reference.com/g/goodwto01.shtml) (remember that one time he got a hit?)
- Jose F. Macias
- Neifi F. Perez
- Troy F. O'Leary (http://www.baseball-reference.com/o/o'leatr01.shtml) (Considerable debate ensued as to whether O'Leary should have a second 'F' when it was discovered his middle name was "Franklin." Nothing was resolved)
Controversy over eligible players
It is debatable whether regulars or pitchers can be part of the F-Troop, or if membership is limited to reserves. Those favoring such status for pitchers have usually bestowed it upon Shawn F. Estes (http://www.baseball-reference.com/e/estessh01.shtml).
The John F. Mabry era
John F. Mabry, patron saint of the F-Troop, joined the Cubs in 2006 as a free agent. He was released in early December, 2006 after one year of service. His final numbers with the Cubs (.205/.283/.324) further burnished his reputation as the patron saint of the Troop.
John Mabry's goofy smile earned him several praises among the vast majority of Cub fans. Some others didn't agree, and proceeded to associate Mabry's mug with several expletives.
