EV-9D9

EV-9D9 is a crazy bronze droid in Return of the Jedi, the last non-apocryphal Star Wars film made to date.

What does EV-9D9 do?

EV-9D9 works for Jabba the Hutt, and seems to be the majordomo of the droids. After Luke Skywalker "gives" C-3PO and R2-D2 to Jabba as part of an elaborate rescue plan, the droids are sent to EV-9D9 to get their assignments.

Most memorably, EV asks 3PO "How many languages DO YOU SPEAK?" in a very strange intonation that makes you think EV-9D9 wants his/her own short-lived Fox series.

The whereabouts of EV-9D9 after the assassination of Jabba the Hutt by Slavegirl Leia are unknown.

What does EV-9D9 have to do with BTF?

Following the "popularity" of the troll Admiral Ackbar on Primer, a troll using the name EV-9D9 began posting regularly and randomly with an obnoxious "YOU ARE A PROTOCOL DROID, ARE YOU NOT?", which was EV-9D9's big line in the film.

EV-9D9 was largely ignored by most Primates and soon disappeared, but not before a memorable hybrid between EV-9D9 and notorious troll Yun Taragoashi was bred. Yun-9D9 posted the (not very) famous line about fifty times in a thread, as was Taragoashi's modus operandi. This led BTF officials to threaten a University of Pittsburgh student (who apparently created Yun-9D9) that the school's IP address included the offender's dorm room number and that further abuse would lead to a formal complaint to school officials.

It is believed Yun-9D9 never appeared again.
