David Eckstein
From Wiki Gonzalez
David Eckstein is a shortstop for the Toronto Blue Jays. Before that, he played for the Cardinals and Angels.
Eckstein is nicknamed "The Mighty Midget" and "Scrappy Doo" because he is listed at 5-foot-6, 170, and is white and scrappy-utility-infielder-ish. However, it hasn't stopped him from hitting .315, being voted the NL's starting shortstop for the 2005 All-Star Game, or legitimately winning two World Series rings, one each with the Cards and Angels -- he was even named MVP of the 2006 Series.
Eckstein is also notable because his obviously weaker-than-average throwing arm hasn't stopped him from compiling excellent (some say brilliant) defensive statistics at shortstop. Clearly, this is no run-of-the-mill scrappy white ballplayer whom the likes of Primer and Prospectus tend to disparage.
Following the suspension of Ryan Franklin for steroid use, some have pointed out that it's the little guys that have the most to gain from the juice. I'm just sayin'...
