Colorado Rockies

From Wiki Gonzalez

The Colorado Rockies are a National League club.

[edit] Profile

The Rockies began play in 1993 as an expansion team. They play their games in Denver, but were named after the state of Colorado in the hope of having more regional appeal. Given the "Colorado" name, it is noteworthy that the ownership group was awarded the expansion franchise largely on the basis of having secured funding for the stadium that became Coors Field. Several Front Range counties voted on a sales tax issue to fund the stadium; Denver County was the only county that voted against the issue.

As of 2006, the Rockies' lifetime record is only 1025-1180, with just one playoff appearance (1995). (However, they have been a good deal more successful than the previous incarnation of the Colorado Rockies.) Attendance has dropped to about 2 million, compared to the Coors Field high of 3,891,014 in 1996.

Also, while on the team, Denny Neagle got a blowjob that may end up costing him $19 million.

The Rockies may be the least popular team on Baseball Think Factory, based on the data from the fans of my team page.
