[edit] Writings

Chris used to be an occasional Primer author. Here is his article on pitcher aging patterns. And here is his just-for-fun article on how old Al Lopez was. And his review of the 2006 THT Baseball Annual can be found here. He also wrote a book review of Dayn Perry's "Winners" which is here.

The piece he is proudest of is Evaluating Managers, Part I. And parts two and three.

Other articles he's done: Starting Rotation Analysis.

He also has had articles published at The Hardball Times. Home Sweet Home examined whether players play better than expected when returning to their former home park after leaving via trade or free agency. (Yes, they do play better.)

In early 2007, he decided to stop submitting articles to BBTF and began submitting them to THT as his first option. Particularly notable is a multi-part series on SP Leverage.

[edit] History on BBTF

Chris used to participate in Hall of Merit elections, stopped for a while, then began voting again in April, 2005. Chris was accused of plagarizing Retrosheet by Dick Thompson in a 2005 Hall of Merit thread that mentioned -- who else? -- Wes Ferrell.

Chris regularly submits Baseball Newsstand links related to Sean Forman and his prime work at baseball-reference.com.

[edit] Handles

Chris has used or is using the following handles on BBTF:

  • Garvey Est Delenda
  • Barnacle Bill the Sailor
  • Dag Nabbit
  • (out of order) [sic]
