Burleson's Defense

From Wiki Gonzalez

Burleson's Defense is a running gag among BTF Yankee fans, and has nothing to do with a TV drama or a renowned criminal case and probably has nothing to do with Minnesota Vikings wideout Nate Burleson.

According to Kevin, Rick Burleson (http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/burleri01.shtml) was the greatest defensive shortstop ever. Burleson was first mentioned when several Red Sox fans compared the 2004 Yankees to the 1978 Red Sox. A player-by-player comparision led to Kevin explaining how amazing R Burleson was on defense and how Burleson was a better player than Derek Jeter despite hitting like a blind 6-year-old girl.

The argument went on for sometime, and afterwards, any time a ball had no chance of being caught or a play had no chance of being made, a Yankee chatterer would occasionally say "Burleson would have had that" (first used by Toby), acknowledging the greatest defensive player in the history of the game.
