Bselig
From Wiki Gonzalez
bselig is the purported Internet account name/userid of Commissioner of Baseball Bud Selig.
In the early 2000s, when various newspaper sites went to a system that required registration to read their articles, enterprising Baseball Primer readers began signing up for these sites using either the userid 'bselig' or the email address 'bselig@bselig.com', with the password 'bselig'.
It worked for about two years at almost every online newspaper in America, until they began wising up to the scam. Even today, it still works at most. Baseball Think Factory articles marked "RR" or "Registration Required" are likely to need bselig's gracious help to be read.
Due to password security requirements that some sites have added (for unknown reasons -- if there's no actual money changing hands, why does the password have to be "secure"?), the password may actually be 'bselig1' or 'Bselig1'. Try those if 'bselig' doesn't work.
BugMeNot (http://www.bugmenot.com) now serves a similar purpose across the Internet and may be used in case bselig fails you.
As a historical note, bselig's alleged "corporate" email address 'bselig@mlb.com' worked on occasion until sites began demanding verified email addresses instead of accepting any old email.
As far as we know, Bud Selig doesn't read Baseball Think Factory, and probably can't read anything at all through those coke-bottle glasses.
If you are curious about the origins of using bselig.com (http://www.bselig.com/) and its role in BBTF immorality, it is sort of self evident.
Curious minds may ask, "Who responded to all the "please verify this email address" notices?" This was actually answered in the Lounge early in 2006. It will also be revealed in ESPN Magazine in summer 2006. However, the "commissioner" will be forced to cancel his bselig.com domain if people keep signing him up for junk mail and porn....
