Bill James

From Wiki Gonzalez

Bill James is the father of sabermetrics; not to be confused with either one of the deadball-era pitchers, Big Bill James (http://www.baseball-reference.com/j/jamesbi01.shtml) or Seattle Bill James (http://www.baseball-reference.com/j/jamesbi02.shtml), the philosopher, a Commissioner of the Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners, the landscape painter, or the British writer of police procedurals.

Bill lives in Lawrence, KS, and is employed by the 2004 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox. When he was writing The Baseball Book in 1989-91, Rob Neyer was his assistant.
