Houston Astros
(Redirected from Astros)
The first MLB franchise in Texas, the Houston Astros were created in 1962 as the Houston Colt .45s and renamed three years later when they moved into the Astrodome, which at the time was an insanely cool idea.
Never very successful, this National League team is best known for its fashion errors, including the truly heart-stopping rainbow uniforms (http://www.the-coffeys.com/pictures/vals/Z01.jpg) (also known as the "rainbow guts") and the current ill-advised experiment with rust-colored uniforms (http://www.chriscreamer.com/logo.php?id=4109).
After years of failure, two excruciating World Series misses in 1980 and 1986, and four aggravating first-round playoff exits between 1997 and 2001, the Astros finally won their first National League pennant in 2005.
