Andrew siegel
From Wiki Gonzalez
In real life, Andrew Siegel is a Law Professor, a lifelong Yankees fan, and the overhwelmingly proud father of a wonderful young girl. Online, he is a Charter member and contributor for the Hall of Merit project, whose wife and conscience are deeply concerned that his obsessive participation in the HOM project will derail his academic pursuits. One would think that his wife would be more upset that he fucks 14 year old girls, but she overlooks that and only bitches about is internet habits....strange.
Andrew is one of the small number of voters who has cast ballots in every HOM election, and he can be found making small contributions to the discussions multiple times per day. His consensus scores have always been high (particularly after the election of Dickey Pearce, who received only one 15th place vote from Andrew in his many years of eligiblity).
At the beginning of the project, Andrew was a peak-prime voter who relied heavily on Win Shares to evaluate peformance. (He was, for example, probably the most tireless advocate of Cal McVey's election.) As the project has evolved, he has followed the path of least resistance and migrated to a more career-oriented approach and to more careful consideration of WARP numbers. He remains, however, a close friend of Hughie Jennings and a strong advocate for the position that peak value is an independent axis of evaluation and not merely a correction to be applied to career value to take into account the effects big seasons have on the pursuit of pennants.
Though arguably mathematically literate, Andrew has not offered any substantial Sabermetric analysis to the HoM project, preferring instead to rely on the hard work of others and his inalienable right to spout off authoritatively without presenting any evidence.
