A truly poor season
From Wiki Gonzalez
Q. What constitutes a truly poor season?
A. See 2006 Royals (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/KCR/2006.shtml), 2005 Royals (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/KCR/2005.shtml), 2004 Diamondbacks (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/ARI/2004.shtml), 2003 Tigers (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/DET/2003.shtml), 2002 Devil Rays (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/TBD/2002.shtml), '65 Mets (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/NYM/1965.shtml), '64 Mets (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/NYM/1964.shtml), '63 Mets (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/NYM/1963.shtml), '62 Mets (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/NYM/1962.shtml), any one of Rey OrdoƱez's (http://www.baseball-reference.com/o/ordonre01.shtml)...
To continue this cavalcade of incompetence, the 1916 A's (http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/PHA/1916.shtml) not only went 36-117, but had a mid-season stretch where they went 4-56.
The Cleveland Spiders had a truly poor 1899 season, undoubtedly the poorest of them all, although Mets fans may claim they've seen worse (see above).
